Many judges in Miami-Dade County still permit virtual appearances on Zoom. These Zoom appearances do not apply to all matters. For instance, evidentiary hearings (such as Arthur Hearings and Motions to Suppress) are almost exclusively done in person. And trials are always in person for felonies (some misdemeanor judges may permit bench trials (non-jury) on Zoom.
DO NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS! It is imperative that you know your Judge's procedure when it comes to Zoom appearances.
Your attorney should know which judges permit Zoom appearances and which Judges do not.
