After nearly a decade of the Back on Track Program (BOT) being available to some DUI offenders in Miami-Dade County, you may now be eligible for BOT if you are charged with Boating Under the Influence (BUI).
Just like the DUI program, a BUI Back on Track would entail completing a Boating Safety course, paying some program fees, and completing community service hours. Upon successful completion of the program, your BUI charge would be amended to a Reckless Boating charge and you would receive a withhold of adjudication, meaning you may be eligible to have your record sealed.
If you have been charged with Boating Under the Influence in Miami-Dade County, contact me to discuss whether you could qualify for the BOT program. Remember, this is a program offered only by the State Attorney and not everybody will qualify.
It's important to speak with a knowledgeable criminal defense attorney who knows how to successfully negotiate a BOT resolution.
