As of Monday, June 28, 2021, Miami-Dade Courts are reopened on a limited basis. Circuit Criminal is reopened, whereas County Criminal - misdemeanor - is still operating via Zoom for at least another week or two.
You should reference the Miami-Dade Courts website for updates.
If you have a notice that predates June 28, 2021, and it instructs you to appear via Zoom, it may be a good idea to contact the office of the Judge assigned to your case to see if you are expected to appear in person or via Zoom.
Understandably, there will be some confusion in the early stages of reopening. However, it is encouraging to see that the Court system is returning to normal operations.
If you are represented by a criminal defense attorney, contact your attorney to inquire whether you are expected to appear in Court live and in person, or via Zoom.
