The 2020 Superbowl is coming to Miami-Dade County. This is great for local football fans and the scores of tourists who will be traveling to Miami-Dade County for the big game. But it is a time where we will see a massive presence of law enforcement.
Alcohol related offenses, such as DUI and disorderly intoxication, will be the top priority of police, who will be charged with the task of maintaining a peaceful environment as massive crowds descend upon the Miami Area in the days leading up to the big event.
If you are traveling to Florida, enjoy your stay, but be mindful of the laws and the fact that police will be out in force. Use ride-sharing services, like Lyft and Uber, when possible. A $12 Uber ride is better than a night in jail and $10,000 in fines, fees, and costs for a DUI.
Even things such as disobeying a police officer's order can result in an arrest for resisting an officer without violence. Fights and violence at games or during tailgates can also lead to serious charges if someone is injured.
