The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has begun processing sealing/expungement applications submitted in December of 2016. This means that if your application packet was submitted to FDLE around December 2016, a processor is finally reviewing your application to determine your eligibility.
This backlog reflects the large number of sealing/expungement applicants in Florida, as well as a shortage of FDLE processors.
The entire process, right now, is taking between 7-9 months to complete.
