A man accused of a DUI manslaughter crash from 2 years ago has accepted a plea deal that will result in a 15 year prison sentence.
Back in 2014, the accused was driving when he crashed into a disabled car on the side of the road. The crash killed two women and one man who had stopped to help the disabled car.
The accused's blood alcohol level was approximately 0.19, more than twice the legal limit in Florida of .08.
The plea deal offered was symbollic - five years for each victim.
In Florida, DUI manslaughter carries a 4-year mandatory minimum term.
The man began serving his sentence immediately upon sentencing. For prison sentences, a defendant will receive credit for the time they have served in the county jail pending trial, as well as sentencing.
