A young Broward Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, along with several drug-related charges.
According to reports, the deputy, who was off-duty at the time, crashed into another car on an I-95 off-ramp in Pompano Beach.
The victim took down the deputy's license plate and was able to report it to police.
When police came to the deputy's home, they found illegal drugs as well.
The deputy was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, possession of cannabis (marijuana), and a few felony drug possession charges.
Leaving the scene of an accident is a misdemeanor unless serious bodily injury occurs, in which case it becomes a felony.
