The Miami-Dade Police Department has busted a major marijuana grow house and cockfighting operation in Southwest Miami-Dade County.
Police believe that $100,000 worth of marijuana plants were being grown inside of the home where the cockfighting and marijuana cultivation were taking place.
The police also found credit card skimming equipment. Police believe that the suspects may have been involved in gasoline thefts in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
The police may be charging as many as 5 people with serious felonies, including trafficking in marijuana.
Trafficking in marijuana is a first-degree felony that carries a maximum of 30 years in prison. There is also a 3-year mandatory prison sentence.
