The trial of a man who is accused of murdering his wife back in 1994 is set to begin in Miami-Dade County.
The man was arrested back in 2012. He had been a suspect in his wife’s disappearance since she went missing back in 1994.
The prosecution claims that the murder occurred due to a custody dispute that had been pending.
The accused was not arrested until 2012. A witness allegedly came forward and will testify against the accused.
Florida law does not require that there be a body in order to prosecute for murder. The law permits the proof of the elements of murder through circumstantial evidence.
The accused is charged with first-degree murder, which means that the murder was premeditated. The accused faces life in prison if convicted.
