Two Davie teens have been charged with first-degree murder for the death of a 76-year old man. The body of the 76-year old man was found in a Davie canal.
The two suspects, who had supposedly lived in the alleged victim's home at various times, reportedly confessed to the crime.
The motive for the murder was supposedly financial, which lead investigators to believe that the murder was premeditated. When a murder is premeditated, the charge is first-degree murder.
The maximum penalty for premeditated murder in Florida is lethal injection. First-degree murder also carries a mandatory life sentence if the death penalty is not imposed.
First-degree murder is a non-bondable offense in Florida.
