A judge increased the bond Monday morning for a man accused of hitting a 75-year-old woman with a vehicle and allegedly leaving the scene. The woman died from her injuries.
The judge increased the accused's bond from $40,000 to $70,000.
Police said that the accused was driving under the influence on a suspended license and was going too fast when he hit the woman.
Police said they caught up with the accused in Hialeah and found blood on the hood and trunk of the car.
There is a question about the accused's immigration status. He is presently under an immigration hold. Once that is settled, the judge said he will be allowed on house arrest and can go to work.
The accused faces several charges, including DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident (LSA) causing death.
