Police state that within the last six months, approximately 364 cars and trucks have been broken into and another 80 have been stolen within a 1½-mile radius of Tropical Park, which is at Southwest 79th Avenue and Bird Road.
Property crimes involving cars are typically 3rd degree felonies, punishable by 5 years in prison in Florida.
