A recent Broward Sheriff's Office investigation geared toward workers' compensation fraud has resulted in the arrests of two Broward County supermarket owners.
BSO, in conjunction with the Workers' Compensation Fraud Task Force, allegedly uncovered over $35 million in fraudulent transactions that occurred at the supermarkets belonging to the two accused people, who are husband and wife.
In addition to the workers' compensation fraud counts, the two are also charged with organized scheme to defraud.
According to reports, the couple faces nearly 100 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
