Hialeah police arrested three men who were suspected of planning to rob a store.
Police have stated that they observed a stolen car driving around a parking lot. When an officer got closer to the car, the car fled. A pursuit followed before the suspects ditched the car and fled on foot.
It is unknown at this time whether there was any actual evidence of a robbery or of any planning of a robbery. While there may be evidence of a stolen car, unless the suspects give statements, it may be almost impossible for the police to charge these suspects with robbery.
Sometimes, the police rely on their hunches. Evidence, not the suspicions of a police officer, are what convict people. You cannot be charged with a crime based upon mere suspicion.
