Police in North Miami have arrested a young man accused of trying to rob a pawn shop. During the robbery attempt, the young man was shot by the owner of the pawn shop.
The young man will face charges of armed robbery with a firearm. Armed robbery with a firearm is a life felony. It is also a non-bondable offense.
Prosecutors take armed robbery cases very seriously. In addition to a possible life term, Florida's 10-20-Life law states that the court must impose a 10-year mandatory sentence for possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
