Miami-Dade Police have discovered a marijuana grow house yielding approximately 500 plants in South Miami-Dade County.
The man has been charged with trafficking in cannabis (marijuana) after police, acting on a tip, obtained a search warrant for the property.
This is a common method by which marijuana growing operations are discovered.
Trafficking in marijuana is a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison with a 3-year mandatory minimum prison term. There is also a $25,000 fine.
It is also a felony to own or operate a marijuana grow house.
