A veteran Hollywood Police officer has been arrested and fired from his job for allegedly attempting to obtain marijuana.
The officer has been charged with possession of marijuana (cannabis). Possession of marijuana is a first-degree misdemeanor in the State of Florida. The maximum penalty for possession of marijuana is 364 days in county jail. A conviction (adjudication) carries a mandatory driver's license suspension for two years.
Penalties can range from diversionary programs to jail time.
