NBC Miami reports that a Palm Beach man, allegedly upset over a Facebook account, took out his anger physically on his 86-year-old grandmother.
The accused, a 26-year old man, was arrested Monday on charges of battery on a person 65 or older and
criminal mischief after he allegedly attacked the grandmother in West Palm Beach.
The accused allegedly grabbed the 86-year-old woman twice by her neck and collar before his father pulled him off her, according to police.
The accused allegedly punched holes in a wall and damaged other parts of the home. This likely serves as the basis for the criminal mischief charge.
As of the latest reports, the accused was being held on $6,000 bond at the Palm Beach County jail.
Battery on a person 65 or older is 3rd degree felony punishable by a maximum of 5 years in prison. Criminal mischief can be a felony or misdemeanor depending on the dollar amount of damage to the property.
