A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into illegal online purchases of the highly addictive pain-killer hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is the generic drug. Common trade names are Vicodin, Hydrococet, Symtan, Anexsia, Biocodone, Damason-P, Dicodid, Hycodan (or generically Hydromet), Hycomine, Hycet, Lorcet, Lortab, Norco, Novahistex, Hydrovo, Duodin, Kolikodol, Orthoxycol, Panacet, Zydone, Mercodinone, Synkonin, Norgan, Xodol and Hydrokon.
The Palm Beach Post reports that a 21-year veteran of the agency who once was charged with
possession of a controlled substance without prescription.
The arrest of this deputy comes at a time of enhanced enforcement in Palm Beach County of so-called pill-mills, clinics that dispense pain-killers.
