NBC Miami reports that Miami-Dade Police have arrested Carmen Barahona, the wife of Jorge Barahona and the foster mother of 10-year old twins Victor and Nubia Barahona. The story made national news in February when Jorge Barahona was found inside of his truck, along with Victor and Nubia. Victor was found badly injured and Nubia was dead in the back of the truck.
Just the other day, Carmen Barahona was ordered held without bond on first-degree murder charges.
Carmen Barahona, 60, was arrested Saturday and charged with seven counts of aggravated child abuse and seven counts of neglect in addition to the murder charge in the death of 10-year-old adopted twin Nubia.
Nubia's body was found wrapped in plastic in the back of father Jorge Barahona's pickup truck on the side of I-95 on Valentine's Day. Her twin brother Victor was found badly burned and covered in chemicals in the front seat of the truck.
Jorge Barahona, 53, was charged with murder and aggravated child abuse. He remains behind bars in Palm Beach County.
