CBS 4 reports that A high school student was seriously injured while jogging in Coconut Grove on Sunday. City of Miami Police say that an 18-year old was jogging near Virginia Street and West Trade Avenue around 12:30 a.m. when he was struck by a Jeep driven by a 32-year old woman.
Arriving officers said they smelled alcohol on the woman's breath but she refused to take a breath test. She also failed a roadside sobriety test.
The woman was charged with DUI and
DUI with serious bodily injury.
DUI with serious bodily injury is a third-degree felony punishable by a maximum of up to 5 years in state prison.
