Trafficking in Hydrocodone

Aggressive Trial Attorney With a Reputation for Success
|
Hydrocodone is a powerful narcotic prescribed by doctors for patients suffering from pain, usually as the result of an injury or after a surgical procedure.
Popular brand names include Vicodin, Hydrococet, Symtan, Anexsia, Damason-P, Dicodid, Hycodan (or generically Hydromet), Hycomine, Hycet, Lorcet, Lortab, Norco, Novahistex, Hydrovo, Duodin, Kolikodol, Orthoxycol, Panacet, Zydone, Mercodinone, Synkonin, Norgan, Xodol and Hydrokon.
Obviously, Vicodin is the most well-known, and the most common hydrocodone variety when it comes to trafficking.
Hydrocodone is treated the same as oxycodone (OxyContin) when it comes to trafficking laws. In fact, it is one of the listed substances in the same statute. The same mandatory minimum sentences apply.
1) 4 grams - 14 grams: 3 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
2) 14 grams - 28 grams: 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
3) 28 grams - 30 kilograms: 25 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
4) 30 kilograms or more: Life in prison.
Trafficking in hydrocodone is as serious a crime as trafficking in oxycodone. The mandatory minimum sentences cannot be waived by the court, but only by the State Attorney's Office.
Remember, mandatory minimum sentence means day-for-day. No gain time.
I am a Miami-Dade County criminal defense attorney who practices in Miami-Dade and Broward. I have, as well as presently, represent accused people charged with trafficking offenses.
As a former prosecutor, I approach every case with one thing in mind: Can the State of Florida prove its charges against my client?
I will analyze all aspects of the case, from the client's encounter with law enforcement, to the actually discovery of the alleged contraband. An encounter with law enforcement may come by way of a C.I. (confidential informant), a search warrant, or a traffic stop. I implore all who read this to know your rights when it comes to dealing with law enforcement!
Police officers are human beings who make mistakes. As a criminal attorney who represents clients charged with trafficking offenses, I work dilligently to exploit those mistakes for the benefit of my clients.
If you are arrested, you may look at your copy of the police report and say, "Hey wait! That's not what happened!"
Unfortunately that's a common response. Police officers sometimes don't tell the complete truth in their reports. It is my job to do a thorough investigation of the facts to determine what is the truth, and what is a lie.
If you are arrested for trafficking you may find that your bond is very high. I can assist you in possibly getting your bond reduced.
If you or someone you know has been arrested for trafficking in hydrocodone, call me to discuss the matter confidentially.
It is always my goal to get the client out of jail on a reasonable bond, and then fight the charges head on!
