A Palm Beach Circuit Court judge ordered a 48 year-old man to serve 22½ years in prison for a road rage crash that killed a 30-year-old woman.
Last week during sentencing, the accused apologized for causing the crash, which he says was an accident. Prosecutors had asked for a 30-year sentence.
In February, jurors found the accused guilty in of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident with death, and reckless driving.
Authorities say that the accused was angry in May 2010 because the alleged victim pulled in front of him. The accused allegedly then swerved into the alleged victim's lane, forcing him into oncoming traffic. The alleged victim crashed head-on into a woman who died from her injuries. The accused reportedly kept driving, but another motorist followed him, took down his license plate number and reported him to police.
