The man charged with murdering two women and a 6-month-old child in January in Lauderdale Lakes was expected to be released Friday after a grand jury decided not to indict him.

The 21-year old has been in custody since his arrest on January 22, 2012, on first-degree murder charges in the deaths of a 6-month-old, his 25-year-old mother, and her 21-year-old roommate.

According to a statement released by the Broward State Attorney's Office, "The Grand Jury issued a preliminary recommendation Thursday that further investigation be conducted and that additional evidence be presented to them so grand jurors can more fully and properly determine whether formal criminal charges should be brought against [the accused] or any other involved individual."

First-degree murder requires the State to not only seek a Grand Jury indictment, but they must also prove premeditation. The State, on its own, could charge the accused with second-degree murder.

The accused has been released from custody although the investigation continues.
