Two people have been arrested after police discovered a marijuana grow house inside a Hollywood home.
On Monday, authorities found 36 marijuana plants growing inside the Hollywood, Florida, home after receiving a tip.
Police immediately arrested two people inside the home.
Authorities confiscated the plants, which had a total weight of about 130 pounds and an estimated street value of over $350,000.
The two residents have been charged with marijuana trafficking; the sale, manufacture and cultivation of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and renting a structure for the purpose of marijuana trafficking.
Marijuana grow houses are very common in Miami-Dade County. Police locate marijuana grow houses due to tips, abnormally high FPL bills, and surveillance (watching people coming in and out of the suspected grow house).
Marijuana trafficking can be charged if the suspected grow house contains more than 25 marijuana plants. Marijuana trafficking carries a 3-year mandatory minimum sentence.
